William M. Fields Sr., a former longtime resident of Greenwood Lake, N.Y. passed away on June 20, 2024, in Westchester Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. He was 81. The son of the late William Martin Fields and Mary Murphy Fields, he was born on January 28,1943, in Bronx, N.Y. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Mary Donald on November 17, 1962, just four days after she turned eighteen. They spent 50 years together until her passing in January 2013. He supported his family by working for New York Telephone Company and their subsequent companies. For a brief period in his retirement, he worked as a traffic guard for the Village of Tuxedo Park Police. During his younger years, he dedicated his spare time as an active member of the Greenwood Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corp, having served in many roles including being a past president. Along with losing the love of his life, Kathleen, he was predeceased by his parents, his beloved daughter Joan Elizabeth Fields and his son Thomas Fields and his grandson Wayne Fields. He is survived by his son William M. Fields Jr., his daughter Dawn Marie Graham and her husband Paul. His seven grandsons and one granddaughter and his beloved sister Patricia VanNorman. Visitation and Services will be held on Tuesday June 25, 2024, from 4-6 P.M. at the Martinez-Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Avenue Middletown, N.Y. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Greenwood Lake Ambulance Corp.
