William Fisher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Covington Funeral Home on Dec. 19, 2022.
William A. Fisher, age 64, of Atoka, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, retiring after 22 years of service. "Fisher" as he was called by those that knew him, had big dreams of seeing the world and at the age of 17, he enlisted in the service to do just that. He photographed everything that he saw, all of his adventures and travels. Fisher took to photography so much that he carried his trusty Instamatic camera in one of the pockets of his tactical vest, where his ammo should have been! He loved the time spent and the memories made while in the service, and especially the flying that he did. His family was a huge part of his life as well, always wanting to gather everyone together any chance he could. He loved his kids and grandkids dearly, and made sure that they knew it.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Tana Lewis Fisher; five children, Billy (Cindy) Fisher, Chelsea (Freddy) Threlkeld, Zachary Fisher, Shelby (Eli Guevarra) George and Lacey George; eight grandchildren, Andrew Walls, Nevaeh Fisher, Jenia Fisher, Matthew Fisher, Preston Archer, Brylee Threlkeld, Hayden Fisher, and Andrew Fisher; two sisters, Sally (Tom) Boudreau, and Terri Winch, and his in-laws, Bill and Barbara Lewis.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tracy Fisher; his brother, Mark Fisher, and his parents, Arthur and Donna Poynter Fisher.
Memorial services will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. Reverend Jason McDaniel of South Tipton Assembly of God will officiate the service. Visitation for friends and family will begin at 10 am in the chapel. Cremation services are under the direction of Covington Funeral Home.
