William F. Foote died on March 14, 2025 of lung and other cancers.
He was born on April 11, 1950 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, the son of William J. Foote and Blanche Quincannon Foote. He grew up in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin where he graduated from Assumption High School.
William joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam, receiving an honorable discharge as a Lance Corporal. He received a bachelors degree in psychology from Saint Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin and worked for various NGO's resettling refugees from Southeast Asia. Following that he worked as a Federal Agent hearing cases for asylum. William most recently lived in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
William is the proud father of two amazing sons, Brian and Alexander, and of a step-son Mike Byhovski of San Francisco. He leaves three surviving siblings, Mary Foote of New York City, John Foote of Chaska, Minnesota and Daniel Foote of Grove City, Ohio, as well as various nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Martha, and Anne.
A grave-side ceremony will take place on July 12 at 10 AM at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Appleton, WI. Later that day, William will be mentioned in the intentions at the 4:00 PM mass at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Following that, friends and family will gather at the Mead Inn to share memories and stories.

Our sons played Little League baseball in Grosse Pointe Park. I could always find Liam: the dad in the Cubs hat or jersey. I always enjoyed visiting with him. Ed White.
