William Ladd Frehse, 61, of Akron, Ohio, passed away from cardiac arrest on December 8, 2025. Born on April 12, 1964, in Traverse City, Michigan, he embraced a life rich in experiences, having spent his formative years living in the vibrant landscapes of Venezuela, Trinidad, Jamaica, Honduras and Mexico. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lock Haven University. Ladd spent his professional life in the hospitality industry, working in various hotels and restaurants in the USA and Mexico. He also spent a year working on the Tucker’s farm in Venezuela.
Ladd is survived by his wife, Susana Martinez; step-daughter, Dulce Maria; biological mother, Lynne Brown; step-mother, Dale Frehse; cousins, Joy Tucker, Max Lee Tucker, Nina Woodson, William Woodson, Christiaan Sabatelli, and numerous other cousins. Throughout his life he was also supported by many dear friends: Bernardo Villalobos, Guillermo Huft Uriza, Edward Ortega, Angel Dossier plus many more in Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly Anne Hall and Robert Max Frehse and step-father Jack Turner Hall.
The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Haven of Rest Ministries, whose years of support were invaluable to William in his life in Akron, Ohio. In accordance with William's wishes, there will be no services. He is now resting in peace, his ashes will be laid to rest in Tifton, Georgia, along side his mother and stepfather.
