I had the pleasure and the honor of meeting Bill at TitanicCon2023 in Las Vegas and I was in in rivet counter heaven when I spoke to him. He knowledge of ships was boundless and a lot of what we understand about shipwreck forensics now, he pioneered.
To say that he was one of the greats is an understatement of epic proportions, but he was an approachable and down to earth guy. I hope those of you who called him kin will accept my sincerest condolences on his passing.
Rest in peace, Bill. We have the watch!
