William George Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jan. 10 to Jan. 11, 2022.
William Bleu George, 35, of Sarasota, Florida, died at approximately 4:30 pm on January 6, 2022, near his home. Bleu, was born December 22, 1986, and graduated from Fisher Catholic High School in 2006. He had a scholarship on the golf team at Tiffin, then transferred to Wittenberg and continued to earn his Bachelor's Degree in General Studies with an emphasis on business and golf course management from Southern New Hampshire University.
Bleu was an athlete with enormous energy, a big heart, a huge smile, and infectious laughter that was unforgettable. Bleu loved his family, uncles, cousins, and friends unconditionally. He often visited his grandparents, Bill & Maribell George, and made frequent trips to Lowell, Ohio where grandparents Robert & Effie Sutton had property on the Muskingum River. He communicated daily with people he loved about living a positive life. His friends and adopted families at Venice Golf & Country Club have given many testimonies of how he changed their lives for the better. Robbie, at VGCC, said Bleu was "ray of sunshine" for the club.
He was born into a golf family at Valley View Golf Club and embraced it wholeheartedly. Bleu came by the passion naturally as it was handed down from his Grandfather William to his father Cory. He learned to never give up and to always strive to be a better person from his mother, and how to be respectful to others from his father. He understood golf from the blades of grass to the details of a golf club, the ball, and the relationships necessary to be successful.
While golf was his greatest passion he played basketball, soccer, a kicker in football, baseball, track, biking, hunting, fishing, and loved to run. Bleu loved people and being a part of a team. He had broken his foot in football the week before the state high school golf tournament, but he persevered with a boot and cart to shoot the worst score on the first day, then came back to blow away the scores on the second day. This is the way Bleu took life by storm. He set course records for both Tiffin and Wittenberg besides helping Wittenberg make it to the NCAA tournament in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Bleu's most recent accomplishment was winning an Assistant Pro Championship in Florida, but he was most proud of winning The Southern Ohio PGA Open Championship for the Southern Ohio Section in 2017.
Bleu loved new experiences, visiting friends and family outside of Ohio and was fortunate to spend time in Italy. His personal relationship with Daniella Serrano, whose family from Columbia had been close family friends, led him to work at a course in Maryland, then to Florida's east coast before moving to Venice, Florida. Venice Golf & Country Club hired him as an 2nd Assistant Associate Member of the PGA where he loved his new co-workers, family, and friends; we had never seen him so happy. A special thank you to Fallon Blatner, who taught Bleu patience and became his best friend among others at VGCC.
William Bleu George is survived by his father, Cory Ky George, mother, Barbi (Sutton) George, Uncle Ty & Patty George, Aunt Kary George, Aunt Toni (Sutton) & William Seyferth, Aunt Joan (Joey) Sutton, Uncle Gregory R. Sutton & Donna (Guseman) Sutton, Cousins; Cory Bell, Kali Shumaker, Josh Shell, Jonathan Seyferth & Matt Ellis, Staci (Seyferth) & Matt Taylor, Nik & Kelly Seyferth, Brodie & Eugenia Seyferth, Jason & Michelle Maravich, Darci (Maravich) & Derik Girdler, Nikki (Sutton) Campbell, Shelly Sutton, and many cousins' children. He was previously deceased by grandparents William R and Maribell (Trout) George, Robert L and Effie (Holdren) Sutton, Cousin Frank Sutton, and best friend Stewart Helser.
Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, January 14th, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home at 436 N Broad St. Lancaster, OH 43130. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15th, at 10 am at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 1596 George Rd NE, Lancaster, OH 43130 (right next to Valley View Golf Club) where burial will take place following the service. All who attend are welcome to join family and friends at the clubhouse afterwards for Bleu's favorite food when in town, Pink Cricket Pizza.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
