William Eugene Glenn, 70, of Aledo, Illinois died Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Trinity Rock Island Hospital. Services are 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Aledo United Methodist Church. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Memorials may be left to the family. Bill was born March 26, 1953 in Red Bud, Illinois to James and Patsy (Lindsay) Glenn. He attended many schools, but graduated from Aledo High School in 1971. He married Linda Higgerson on March 17, 1979 in Sparta, Illinois.
Bill was just the kindest person. He had a smile that would light up the room. His laugh was something that would make you laugh. You knew it was Bill even if you didn’t see him because of his booming voice. His love language was acts of service for others. He just plain loved to help others. Bill was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a member of the United Methodist. Bill loved the Sparta Community Chorus and loved to perform.
He is survived by his sister, Susie of Aledo; brother Tom (Amy) Glenn of Monmouth, Illinois; one step-son, Mark; one step-daughter, Kristin; two brother-in-laws Eugene and Floyd (Mary) Higgerson; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Elvis.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, David and Jerry; and one sister, Sara.
