William H. Gray

A wise man who made a profound impression on many. I had the honor of interviewing him, starting when he was a Freshman in Congress. During my years at National Black Network he was a major asset. He shared his knowledge on many important issues and I truly miss him

Justin and family, my condolences on the passing of your father. You, I and Elizabeth Parris worked at Shaw Pittman and she gave me the news this week. I have since moved south. May the grace and mercy of God continue to keep you as you continue to live life without your family member here on earth. Always remember the good times.

To the Gray Family,

I want to offer my condolence to you in the passing of Pastor William H. Gray. Although I did not know him personally, I did had a chance to visit the Bright Hope Baptist Church a number of years ago. He was a great preacher of the Gospel and a great leader not only for Philadeaphia, but for the entire nation. Keep trusting in God, for He will always be by your side. May the Lord continue to Bless and keep you.

I was saddened to read of the passing of this "fine gentleman" in my August 12, 2013 issue of Jet magazine. He was a true pioneer in politics and set the bar for those who followed him. My wish for his family is to let them know that he has been "sending up his timbers" and the works that he has accomplished will never die! May God continue to bless his family always!

Although I did not always agree with Congressman Gray, I found him to be a very dedicated and distinguished public servant. Rest In Peace.

Having worked for Mr. Gray at UNCF and also knowing him from high school where he spoke at my graduation I truly admired him and am so sad to hear of his death. My prayers go out to the family. He lived a life of service and for that he leaves a remarkable legacy.

My deepest sympathies to the Gray family at this difficult time. I was a boy when I knew Rev. Gray. I remember him as my friends dad. A family man who came on camping trips, and was active in his family's lives. I hope he is remembered for the wonderful man he was, as much as he is remembered for his work. God Bless.

I grew up in Bright Hope under his father along with Herby. His mother was my home economics teacher in high school. My condolence to his family and I will see you in the resurrection.

Brotherly love beckons blessings and becomes bountiful brilliance when the mission seems impossible. Gracious Gray family, know the stars shine brightly deep in the hearts of Texas because of "Brother Bill's" exemplary service, unselfish dedication and inspiring vision. I was truly saddened to hear of the death of Bill Gray. My condolences to Andrea and the family. Gray and my late husband Ralph were roommates while at Drew Theological School, he officiated at our wedding, and spoke at Ralph's funeral.
He was a dear friend to so many people who crossed his path. May he rest in sweet peace.

Thank you for your being a beacon for the District of Columbia, HBCUs, the underserved and all persons.

I recall in the 90s here in the District of Columbia, when those under politically investigative fire were regular front page news, Reverend/Congressman always conveyed grace, strength and Godliness. Through it all, he just seemed to emanate sincere kindness and genuine compassion for the plight of others. Such is a rare trait in politics.

I am deeply sorry for the family's loss.

Drew University is in Madison, New Jersey not Jersey City, and those of us who attended Drew will remember Rev. Gray fondly.

This is a man that I've admired from afar for most of my life. As a "frat brother" and a fellow minister of the gospel, he has been an example to me of everything that is right in men, particularly African American men. His legacy is secure, and he will be sorely missed.
