William Gregor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allen Funeral Home - Davison on Dec. 23, 2025.
GREGOR, William Reginald – of Davison, MI, age 81, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held 12 PM Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. The family will welcome visitors 11 AM-12 PM Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jill Welch, to honor Bill's legacy by supporting his beloved great-granddaughters.
Bill was born in Flint, MI on July 12, 1944, son of the late William and Arlene (Eldred) Gregor. He married the love of his life, Sue Simpson, on August 15, 1964, and together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and countless memories. They were married for sixty-one years, lived humbly, valued family, and truly embraced the simple pleasures of life. Bill worked for many years at Fisher Body, Genesee Bay Construction, and L & M Landshaping. He was known for his extraordinary ability to fix anything. Whether it was antique cars, Cushman Motor Scooters, or the countless projects that filled his barn, Bill's mechanical skills and resourcefulness were unmatched. Armed with a bottle of ether and a never-ending determination, there was nothing he couldn't make run. He saw the potential in every project and loved the challenge of making things new again. Bill was a man who cherished his time with family. He loved going on drives, often with Sue by his side, and stopping at the hot dog stand in Grand Blanc, a small but meaningful tradition. Every anniversary, for 61 years, was celebrated at Luigi's Restaurant, where Bill and Sue shared a special meal and reflected on the life they built together. He lived simply, and even thought a meal at Apollo Coney Island was a luxury. He also loved the quiet moments, often sitting on the front porch of the home they shared for nearly 60 years, watching the cars go by with a contented smile. His home was truly his favorite place and he never wanted for more than he had. Bill's love for music was also a defining part of who he was. He would spend hours listening to and singing along with his beloved player piano, often in the barn, surrounded by the things he treasured most. His unique relationship with each of his grandchildren was something to behold. Bill had a special way of connecting with each one, offering love, guidance, and a sense of warmth that made them feel cherished. He was not only considered "POPS" to them, but to everyone who knew him. He was fiercely proud of his daughters and would often say, "I wouldn't trade them for nothin!" This simple but heartfelt phrase reflects the deep love he had for them and he wanted the world to know it.
Bill's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the stories we'll share, the memories we'll treasure, and the love that continues to surround us. He will forever be remembered for his fun-loving sense of humor, quick witted one liners, his incredible mechanical skill to fix anything, and the quiet joy he found in the everyday moments of life. If you were in his circle you knew it because not only did he work hard, but he loved hard. May you rest in peace, Bill, and may your memory continue to bring us warmth and comfort.
Bill's family includes his loving wife, Sue Gregor; 2 children, Jill Welch and Allison (Kevin) Davis; 4 grandchildren, Kylie (Matt) Hutcheson, Logan (Hannah) Welch, Eli Welch and Fletcher Davis; 2 great-granddaughters, Blake Hutcheson and Baby Welch (on the way); parents, William and Arlene Gregor; 2 siblings, Jerry Gregor and Gwen (Chuck) Viers, and several nieces and nephews.
