WILLIAM BRIGHT GRIFFIN, 78, beloved husband of Janet Davis Griffin, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024 in Lexington Medical Center.
A native of Durham, NC, Bill was a son of the late Henry and Nancy Pickett Griffin. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University. Bill retired from SRNS at the Savannah River Site..
Bill was deeply devoted to his family and friends, particularly cherishing the time spent with his grandchildren and his dog, Yogi. He was also an accomplished artist and had a passion for sports. Known for his storytelling ability, Bill had a special way of engaging those around him with his lively narratives.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Janet; a daughter, Katherine Ames (Jeremy), Summerville, SC; two sons, Jeremy Griffin, Memphis, TN, Neal Griffin (Laurel), Seattle, WA; four grandchildren, Kailana Ames, Jax Ames, Bodhi Ames, Paisley Griffin; his sister, Carolyn Inscoe, Alexandria, VA.
A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon, November 3rd at 2 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Bill Howard III officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Samaritan’s Purse for Hurricane Relief. (samaritanspurse.org).
