Bill was born in Omaha Nebraska to parents Bill and Dorothy Hackenberg. He was raised in the North Omaha area and attended Blessed Sacrament, Omaha North, and Northwest.
Bill married his childhood sweetheart Maria and worked over 30 years as Route Driver and Machine Maintenance for Swanson / Treat America where he made many lifelong friends. After his time in the vending industry, he worked as a pharmacy technician testing & delivering Nuclear Medicine for Cardinal Health until he retired early to care for his elderly father whom he loved immensely.
Bill was known for his love of animals and his grandchildren. A friend to many, he was a kind, thoughtful, and giving person who always had an inappropriate joke in his back pocket. His love and dedication to his wife was unparalleled. Bill is survived by his wife: Maria; his brother: Tom; daughter: Annie; sons: Bill (Amanda), Mike (Misti); and 13 grandchildren.
Bill's Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday w/ 6:30 Rosary at Roeder Mortuary 108th Street Chapel; The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Wednesday (1/15/2025) at St. Philip Neri Church 8200 N 30th St. Omaha, Nebraska with Luncheon to follow; There will be a private interment at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska.
