William “Bill” Haines, aged 92 years, went to be with his beloved Norma on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Born on October 11, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Bill was the only child of Margaret Swanner Haines and Robert Lemoyne Haines. He is survived by his sons Ted and Tom (Debi) Haines; daughter Susan (Kevin) Cauble; sister-in-law Paula (Danny) Breedan; stepchildren Mike (Francisco) Adams and Valerie (Joseph) Snyder; grandchildren Jason, Ryan, Ian and Evan Haines, Olivia (Ben) Marthey, and Alex Cauble; step-granddaughter Amanda Snyder; and great grandchildren Gavin and Sage Haines.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Donald Layman and his wife, Norma Haines.
Bill was a printer by trade and worked as a typesetter for the Indianapolis Star News. Bill enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and playing cards alongside Norma. He also enjoyed golfing with his sons. Bill was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church and of Gideon International, both for over 20 years.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at Flanner & Buchanan Washington Park East followed by the funeral at 2:00pm.
