Dr. Hamilton was my professor of Theology at Colgate Rochester Divinity School in the early '60s. Now in these later years I credit him with giving me the permission to be fully open in my own theological/philosophical search. I considered myself a Christian when I was in seminary preparing for Christian ministry. I now identify myself as an atheist and a devotee of Jesus of Nazareth.

I still treasure his early books on Christian Atheism. Now I have time to read about Melville. A great, brave human being.

I was a student of Dr. Hamilton while I was at Hamilton College. He answered many questions for me. He was a great man.
