It is with profound sadness that we announce that William Jacob Hill (Jake), age 32, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away into the arms of his savior on the afternoon of October 13th after a brief battle with a sudden illness.
He is survived and sorely missed by his father, Dean Hill, and his brother, Isaac Hill, as well as countless other family members and friends whose lives he touched and with whom his spirit lives on. He joins his beloved mother, Elizabeth Hill, in their eternal home.
Jake, as he was affectionately known, was born in Manning, South Carolina on June 23rd, 1993. As their first-born, he was the pride and joy of his father Dean and mother Liz, who had hitherto been cautioned that they were unlikely to bear a child. Jake spent the first 9 years of his life in South Carolina until he, his parents, and his baby brother Isaac headed west to Colorado where he would spend the rest of his days.
Jake worked in the food service industry as a manager, and he adored watching the Georgia Bulldogs and Colorado Avalanche with his dad and spending time with the many people with whom he shared his tremendous capacity for love and affection. Some of his finest memories came from a series of adventures he and his brother shared traveling to various destinations across the world.
All those fortunate enough to have known him will remember in awe Jake's other-centeredness and insistence upon being the one to defend his tribe from any manner of harm. He also had a powerful desire to make people's day better, and did so through almost nonstop humor and heartfelt sentiments when they mattered most.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 1st at 11 AM from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 AM.
