William Hill Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Epting Funeral Home - Bentonville on Feb. 10, 2026.
Mr. William Lloyd "Bill" Hill, 81, passed peacefully into heaven on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Rogers, Arkansas.
Born on February 6, 1945, in Marshalltown, Iowa, Bill lived a full and vibrant life marked by deep faith, unwavering love for his family, and an infectious personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was the son of Kenneth and Marybell Hill and grew up with a strong sense of community and purpose that would guide him throughout his life.
Bill attended Arizona State University, where he played baseball, a sport that remained close to his heart throughout his life. His passion for the game extended beyond the field as he later coached baseball, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with younger generations.
Professionally, Bill built a successful career with General Foods and Layflat Mops. Known for his outgoing nature and natural charisma, he was a gifted salesman who could strike up a conversation with anyone. Whether known as "Big Bill, or simply "Coach," he brought energy and warmth to every room he entered.
In 1968, while in San Antonio, Texas, Bill met Janice, the love of his life. They were united in marriage on June 7, 1969, beginning a marriage that spanned 56 years. Together they raised their family in Haughton, Louisiana, where they lived for three decades before eventually settling in Rogers, Arkansas. Over the years, Bill also called Phoenix and Cottonwood, Arizona, and San Antonio and Dallas, Texas home.
A devoted Christian, he shared his faith by teaching young people in his early years and continued to express his beliefs through a lifetime of service, kindness, and humble dedication.
Bill found great joy in the outdoors, whether at a baseball park, golfing or fishing. He loved the simple pleasures of time spent with friends and loved ones. Most of all, he cherished his family, holding close the memories of family vacations to Maui, the road trip to California, and visits to many MLB ballparks.
He is survived by his beloved wife Janice Hill; son Brady Hill and wife Mindy Hill; daughter Mary Sweeney and husband Jack Sweeney; granddaughters Casey Hill, Allyson Sweeney, and Tessa Sweeney; grandson Jackson Sweeney; granddaughter Hailey Palmer and her husband Paul Stromberg; grandson Isaac Palmer; great-granddaughter Lola Palmer; brother Tom Hill and wife Pam Hill; nephews Travis Hill (Jessica) and Matthew Hill (Kelly); sister-in-law Sherry Loyd (Max); niece Rose Harris (Brandon); and special friend Cindy Bailey along with many others who were touched by his generous spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Marybell Hill; brothers Kenneth Hill Jr. and Ronald Hill.
Bill's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with laughter shared on the ballfield or on the golf course. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 16, 2026, from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Pinnacle Groves Assisted Living Dining Hall, located at 5522 W. Northgate Rd., Rogers, AR 72758.
Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Rogers Missions.
