William H. Holmes

1940 - 2021

William Howard Holmes, 81, of Irwin, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2021. He was born Sept. 9, 1940, in Claridge, to the late David and Maud (Ammon) Holmes. William proudly served in the 82nd Airborne of the Army and went on to serve in the Army Reserve in the 420th Engineers. William is survived by his beloved spouse of 56 years, MaryAnn; children, Ronald (Denise) Holmes, Pamela Holmes, Kenneth Holmes, William (Lisa Rotherham) Holmes, Stephanie Rupert, David (Kim Kepple) Holmes, Michael (Doddie) Holmes, MaryAnn (Steve) Kendrish and Michelle (Jamie) Boord; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son; sister, Elizabeth M. Supancic; and brother, Charles Holmes. All services will be private with LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, PA 15636. Burial will be in the Irwin Union Cemetery.
