William "Bill" Holsopple passed away at home on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the age of 75 with his final breaths being taken with the comfort of his daughter's, Katie and Megan by his side.
Born in Windber, Pennsylvania, Bill spent his childhood and college years on the East Coast. Bill attended Salem University in West Virginia where he obtained his Bachelors in Mathematics and continued his higher education at the University of West Virginia where he completed his Masters.
After college, Bill married his college sweetheart, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Holsopple, they had four children and settled in
Broomfield, Colorado in 1989 after short stints in Louisiana and California.
A true sportsman at heart, Bill spent countless hours enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Whether it was skiing, casting a line into a raging river, hunting big game and foul, riding his beloved ATV/snowmobile, or riding his motorcycle along the winding roads, he found peace in these adventures. Though he was known for his love of the outdoors, it was his deep commitment to his family that defined him most. He treasured family time and found his greatest joy in shared moments that included teaching his children to fish, how to take aim at the gun range, enjoying Denver Broncos games, and even quieter activities like baking with his sourdough starter rightfully named "Bill's Best."
Bill had a heart that overflowed with love, especially for his grandchildren, Jake and Ellie. He always made them feel like the most important people in the world, showering them with gifts and most of all spending time with them by showing up for endless football games, gymnastic practices and birthday parties.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife (Jacquelyn Holsopple), son (Andrew Holsopple), brother (David Holsopple), and parents (Grant and Elsie Holsopple).
Bill is survived by his son (Jonathan Holsopple), daughters (Kathryn Gunn, Megan Holsopple), 2 grandchildren (Jake and Ellie Gunn), and brother (Richard Holsopple). He will be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended-family, and dear friends.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of joy, love, and an unbreakable bond with the earth and those he loved. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the memories of his adventures and his love for his family. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Steve Crowder has been held. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Highway Community Church or the Broomfield Community (BCC) Center as Bill's faith and daily trips to the BCC were incredibly important to him.
