William Collison Howell, 79, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
Born September 18, 1946, in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was the son of William Howell and Emma Stinson Howell. A proud patriot, William honorably served four years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era. His service to his country was a defining chapter of his life, one he carried with quiet pride and deep respect for fellow veterans.
Following his military service, William pursued a career as a radio disc jockey, a profession well suited to his engaging personality and love of music and storytelling. Through the airwaves, he connected with countless listeners, bringing entertainment, companionship, and a familiar voice to the community.
William was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Russellville, where he valued fellowship, faith, and service. He was known as a devoted father and grandfather, a loyal family man, and a friend whose presence was steady and genuine.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Billie C. Fitzgibbon.
Survivors include his daughters, Kristy Carter (Kenneth) of Vail, Arizona, and Holly Campbell (Dan) of Detroit, Michigan; his beloved grandchildren, Ivy and Posie Carter and Cody and Piper Campbell; his nephew, Bill Fitzgibbon of Rogers; and his niece, Valerie Jean of Rover; along with extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Humphrey Funeral Service. A private committal service will be held at the Chapel of Light at the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center with burial in Center Valley Memorial Gardens Field of Honor with Military Honors at a later date.
