William "Bill" M. Hubbard

Belleville, Illinois - Just one lonely bell was ringing Thursday, September 25. William (Bill) Hubbard, age 69 of Belleville, IL, passed away surrounded by his family.

Bill, born January 5, 1956, in East St. Louis, IL, Bill was a "straight forward, take me as I am" type of man with a heart of Gold. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished hunting and fishing. He was well known for his tall tales, always able to bring a smile or a laugh to those around him.

A hard working man, Bill worked at the National City Stockyards from 1974 thru 1982 before becoming a skilled Union Carpenter. He could build just about anything and took great pride in his work. He found peace and happiness at "The Farm", a place that was close to his heart.

Above all, Bill was a devoted family man. He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, stories and memories he leaves behind. Truly, a "One of a Kind" who was loved and respected by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. and Carole D, nee Gossett, Hubbard; and his brothers, John Hubbard and Francis Hubbard.

Surviving are his wife of 51+ years, Iris Hubbard, nee Worthen, of Belleville, IL; children, Shannon (Robert) Hubbard of Belleville, IL, Wm. Jeremy Hubbard of Columbia, IL, and Joseph (Sandra) Hubbard of Smithton, IL; grandchildren, Karli Hubbard, Allyson Young, Addison Hubbard, Cale Hubbard, Wyatt Hubbard, Cameron Hubbard and Weston Hubbard; sisters, Chris (Randy) Newman of Shiloh, IL, and Mary "Trink" Matt of Bellevile, IL; and brother Marty (Donna) Hubbard of Belleville, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Shiloh Eagles, 100 Eagle Dr, Belleville, IL 62221 at 2:00 p.m.
