William Edward Jackson

Died November 30, 2025

at Village Hospital in Village Florida

William E Jackson was born in Columbus, GA to Anna E. Jackson-Burges and William T. Jackson on October 11,1958. While he used the name Bill, most people knew him as Jack.

He joined the Army on February 1979 and served as a Military Policeman until his discharge in May 1984. While stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he met Yolanda Ward and they were married on March 6,1981, in Wichita Falls TX.

He started working for the Federal Prison System in 1984 and retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 2015. During this time, he also served as Vice President for AFGE local 506.

Jack enjoying retired life where he focused on historical research with an emphasis on the Civil War and family ancestry. He and Yolanda also enjoyed going to MEGA Con, which they attended over 10 times.

He was preceded by death by his parents, 5 siblings, and his son Tony.

He is survived by his wife Yolanda of the home, daughters Mary Tompkins of Yukon, OK and Shannon Lee of Crawfordville, IN. 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

5946 SE Robinson Rd. Bellview FL

Thursday; December 11, 2025, at 3:00pm.
