William George Johnson, 70, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
A memorial service to honor William’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at First Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Sarah Williams. Entombment will follow at First Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
William was born on January 6, 1955, in New Bern, to the late Fred and Marguirette Johnson. He later went on to graduate from NC State University in 1978. William was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was owner and operator of Soft Water Solutions Company.
William was a member of the First Methodist Church, Morehead, proud member of the Masonic Lodge in New Bern since 1981, member of the Rotary Club here in Morehead City where he received a Paul Harris Fellow Pin. He was on the Board at Centura Bank for four years also the Board of Directors for the Carteret Community College Fund Board for four years. William was a member of the Home Builders Association in Morehead City for 25 years.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter, Katy Johnson (Rick Bergstedt) of Beaufort, NC; son, William George Johnson, Jr. of Beaufort, NC; brother, Tommy Johnson (Patty) of Wilmington, NC; and grandchild, Zoey Green.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen Johnson.
