WILLIAM "BILLY JOE" JONES LIVESTREAM LINK

William J. Jones was born on October 11, 1943, in Decatur, Alabama, to Ruby Lee Jones. He was the second of six children. In the early 1950s, the family relocated to Oberlin, Ohio, where his mother worked both in and out of the city before eventually settling in Cleveland, Ohio.

After graduating from high school, Billy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he continued his commitment to service through a long and dedicated career with the federal government, from which he later retired.

Billy was known for his joyful spirit and the many talents that brought life to every room he entered. He loved singing, dancing, bowling, and was especially known for his mastery in the kitchen. His warmth, humor, and generosity created lasting memories for family and friends alike.

On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 12:46 p.m., the Lord called Billy home. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Virginia Smith; his mother, Ruby Lee Jones; his brothers, Richard V. Sanders and Willie Lee Gray; his nieces, Shellie Sanders and Darnetta L. Sanders; and his great-nephew, Nisiah Sanders.

He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Darlene Jones-Parker (Nathaniel Parker), John Sanders Jr., Rhonda D. Sanders, and sister-in-law, Ellawee Gray wife of the late Willie Lee Gray all of Cleveland, Ohio; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.

Billy's legacy lives on in the love he shared, the joy he gave, and the lives he touched.
