William Ray Kennedy, 92, of Belle Center, passed away at 8:58 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. He was born in Logan County, Ohio on September 3, 1932, to the late William Earl and Olive (Shape) Kennedy. On September 11, 1971, William married Shirley Jane (DeRossett) Kennedy, and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2023.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Ernie) Holycross of Kenton; son, John (Christine) Kennedy of Kenton; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife and parents, William was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Wilson; son, Fred Justice; grandson, Alex Grooms and siblings, Dorothy Simpson, Maxine Simpson, Majorie Stevens, Robert E. Kennedy, and John W. Kennedy.
William was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. His years of work included painting Cadillac ambulances at Miller-Meteor in Piqua, International Car in Kenton, and retiring from Ben Logan Schools Maintenance.
A private burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
