William J. Klicka

William J. Klicka, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025 surrounded by his family. Bill was born on September 3, 1943 in Berwyn, IL. Loving husband of 54 years to Shirley. Devoted father to Bill (Julie), Jennifer (Corey), Donna (Tony), John and Veronica. Adored grandfather to Tyler, Maggie, Jaimie, Taylor, CJ, Madi, Gabe, Patrick and Sammie. Dearest brother to Connie Hussar. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents John and Lillian Klicka. Bill was a lifelong resident of Des Plaines and was very involved in his community. He served as Mt. Prospect Park Commissioner for 28 years and was also involved in the Waycinden Baseball League. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness and quick wit. He was a successful business owner and an avid lover of hunting and fishing.
Throughout his life, Bill was dedicated to his family, his work, and his values. He found joy in life's simple pleasures and took pride in the relationships he built over the years. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, or lending a helping hand, he was a constant source of support and wisdom to his loved ones. Bill was known for his warm heart, quiet strength, and steady presence.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, humility, and resilience. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Matz Mt. Prospect Funeral Chapel 410 E. Rand Rd., Mt. Prospect, IL 60056. Friends are invited to meet the family at St. Zachary Catholic Church 567 W. Algonquin Rd. in Des Plaines, IL 60018 on Friday, May 30th. There will be additional visitation time at church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral mass begins at 11:00a.m.
