WENDELL – William "Billy" Carlton Knight passed at Transitions life Care on Sunday, May 17, 2026. He was a husband, father, granddaddy, brother, uncle and friend to many. Family was always put first in all aspects. His personality would entertain a room. Showing up for his grandkids ball games was one of his top priorities, he loved watching Sunday Night Football with family and loved listening to good country music.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kim Knight; his children, Kimberly Knight (John) of Youngsville, Brittany Murray (Jason) of Middlesex, Clarissa Apodaca (Jose) of Wendell, Kaylee Walker (Alex) of Wendell, Darrin Knight of Wendell and Phyllis McMillan of Zebulon; his grandchildren, Cayden & Kaydee Knight, Logan, Fisher, Owen Murray, Lyla & Levi Walker, Adeline Apodaca and Augustus McMillan; his brothers, Wayne Knight (Andrea) of Zebulon and Gary Knight (Mary) of Rocky Mount. He was preceded in death by his grandson Jose (Tink) Apodaca, his mother, Peggy Sue Braxton, and step-father Albert David Braxton.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Thursday, May 21, 2026 and funeral service on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 2:00pm, both services being held at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory of Wendell, NC.
Flowers are welcome.
