William Kribbs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Musselman Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc on May 16, 2025.
Faith is the patient seamstress
who mends our torn beliefs
Who sews the hem of childhood trust
and clips the thread of grief.
-Joan Walsh Anglund
On a beautiful sunny Mother's Day, God touched the soul of Bill Kribbs at the Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital and ushered him to His glorious kingdom.
As a child his family, father, Benton, mother, Carol, and siblings Bob and Jack moved from Bill's birthplace of Brookville to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. His father had accepted a position of basketball coach and athletic director at Bucknell University. During those formative years, Bill honed his skills towards his love of sports, baseball and football, but most especially his obsession with striking golf's white dimpled ball.
Bill attended Lewisbury Public Schools, graduated from Kiski Prep and Lycoming College and with his business degree in hand became Regional Sales Manager and then National Sales Director for Haggar Apparel Co., of Dallas, Texas. He was with the company for over 37 years. He was the Regional Sales Manager at Playworld Systems of Lewisbury for over ten years, and finally after retirement dabbled in Real Estate for Howard Hanna. During all of those traveling years, however, he drove, spiked, putted, birdied and bogeyed that elusive, dimpled ball in pursuit of that "perfect" game.
But without a doubt, Bill would state his greatest fulfillment and accomplishment in his life was his cherished marriage of 55 years to his beloved wife, Janice. His deep love, devotion, his compassion and unwavering loyalty to her, and his pride and dedication to the life they shared together will hopefully sustain and "clip the threads of grief" that follow.
Bill is survived by his wife, Janice, his brother, Robert and his wife, Sharon, of Lewisbury, Pennsylvania, his brother Jack and his wife Kerry of Salisbury, North Carolina, and many cherished nephews and nieces and grand- nephews and nieces.
A very special human being passed away on May 11th. A generous, loving, devoted, honorable, humorous and placid soul is hopefully playing bogey-free golf on the greatest golf course imaginable.
A private family service to celebrate Bill's life will be on 5 Creek's Farm in Pinnacle, North Carolina.

I like countless of Bill's Haggar friends remember a most courteous and professional partner to work with. A beautiful testimony for a wonderful man.

I worked with Bill at Haggar. Always a PRO´s pro and a true gentleman. When my wife first met him in 1984 when we had just moved to Philadelphia, she mentioned that Bill stood up out of his chair when she came into the room. Funny how those unspoken niceties impact people. He will be missed.

I am sorry to hear of Bill's passing. My condolences are with his family. Bill and I played football and basketball together, in Lewisburg, from 7th grade thru graduation. He was a great player, teammate and friend. And just a really good guy. He will be welcomed home with all of our other classmates who have made it home. Rest in peace my old friend.

I remember meeting cousin Bill in summer 1969 when I visited his mother, Aunt Carol, in Lewisburg. After chatting a bit, Bill drove me around Lewisburg showing me many of his "haunts" and favorite places when he was growing up. I recall he drove an MG (top down of course) during that evening buzz around town. The next morning as I was leaving Aunt Carol's, I spoke with Bill outside their garage on the driveway. He was with a girlfriend (Janice?) and we said our good-byes as I departed east to the Poconos.

In one of the original Kribbs' homes in Knox, PA on Kribbs Avenue, during my adolescent years, Mother, Nancy Kribbs Tharan, told me the 3 boys in the picture on our fireplace mantle were Bob, "Bill" and Jack. I have a picture yet today showing my Mother and Father in front of that fireplace with the picture behind them.

Those are my only memories of Bill, yet later in life, we did assemble and erect a huge playground package, which Bill, had sold to the church where we were working as contractors.

I remember playing a lot of golf with Bill. He always had a smile on his face and was fun to be around. "Gone too soon" certainly applies to you Bill. I know Janice will miss you dearly and I will too.
