William "Bill" Lambert

William "Bill" Lambert William "Bill" Lambert, 80, of Sophia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Born March 16, 1932, he was the son of the late William and Lorain Quesenberry Lambert. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife and grandchildren. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Sophia First Baptist Church. Bill served in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Edward and Eddie Joe Lambert; sisters Margaret Ashby and Shelby J. Baker; several in-laws; and a special brother-in-law he helped raise, Stephen Ashby. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 51 ½ years, Phyllis Ashby Lambert of Sophia; son, Pastor Kenneth Blaine Lambert and wife Tammy of Sophia; granddaughters, Heather Bolen and husband Doug of Coal City, Mari Yost and husband Corey of Crab Orchard; 4 great-grandchildren, Chance, Audrianna, and Bailee Bolen, and Lailyn Yost; 3 sisters, Gladys Milleson, Fayleen Utt, Brenda Weikle and brother Johnny Lambert. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Sophia First Baptist Church with Pastors Charles Gilbert and Kenneth Blaine Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may gather with the family Thursday from 6 – 8 PM at Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia.
