Mr. William Lawrence Lambert Jr.

William Lawrence Lambert, Jr., passed away on June 21, 2018 in San Antonio, TX surrounded by his family. William was born in Blytheville, AR on August 31, 1943. He was preceded in death by his fa-ther, William Lawrence Lambert, Sr.; two sisters, Mary Ann Fiske & Linda McKinney; son in law, Timo-thy S. Waters; mother of his daughters, Patricia Louise Paup Lambert and his dog, Daisy. William is survived by his wife, Cynthia Anne; children, Elizabeth Lambert Grisaffi (Jason), Susan Lambert, Philip and Steven Rountree; grandchildren, Anna Waters, Shyanne Rountree, Tyler and Madeline Lindley and dog, Barney. The family will receive friends from 4:30PM-6:30PM on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Porter Loring Mortuary North. As a child in Blytheville, Bill grew up surrounded by family out on the farm, tending to the gardens and learning sports at early age. He watched Brooks Robinson play baseball as he refined he love for sports prior to heading to Texas to grow up in San Antonio; attending St. Mary's school, Central Catholic where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. Bill traveled across town to Trinity University earning achievements in football, basketball and engineering. He was mentioned in Sports Illustrated one week for most yard gained in a single game. After graduating Trinity with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Engi-neering, Bill continued his education earning a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Houston Clear Lake. In 2017, he received his Juris Doctorate in Law from the St. Mary's Law School as well as a standing ovation. Bill launched a lengthy career at NASA engineering Apollo missions, Skylab, Gemini and the shuttles. Onward and upward as he would say, he moved forward to more earthly Oil and Gas related career ma-neuvers. As controller of many Oil and Gas companies in Houston, he helped facilitate standardization of international accounting practices and proactive mergers. Bill loved creating extraordinary memories for his family and friends. Bill's focal point always was his family. Whether it be Elizabeth and Susan's sports, education and supporting Patty's art. He was also a beloved Grandfather to Anna, Tyler and Madeline. In the last few years, he revered his time with Cynthia, Steven, Philip and Shyanne. Bill concentrated on lasting memories working with the Tobin Center, Mis-sion Road Ministries and the 100 Club of San Antonio. The family expresses sincere gratitude to those who help him tremendously get through school and daily activities, especially his deep friendship with Maria who drove him everywhere.
