WILLIAM "Bill" LEWIS, 84, of Imperial, NE, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024, in Lincoln, NE.
Bill was born on February 6, 1939, in Plymouth, ID, to Edward and Esther (Ekstrum) Lewis. He graduated from West High School in Denver, CO.
Bill married Genindle "Gen" Pulliam on October 20, 1960, at the Church of Christ in Newport, AR, while Bill was serving in the Navy. The couple was blessed with three children: Dalene, Douglas, and Jeff. They made their home in Olathe, KS, on the Naval Base. After his discharge, they made their home in Denver to be closer to family before moving to Boulder and, later, Missoula, MT. Bill worked as a customer engineer at IBM for many years before feeling the call to the ministry. He served as a preacher for many years, with a notable aspect of his ministry devoted to serving as a prison chaplain.
Bill always wanted to help people if he was able. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He also had a great appreciation for watching the sunset and gazing at the stars. Bill leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia Langley; brother, Arnold Lewis; and brothers-in-law Dean Teter and Phil Langley.
