You can imagine the memories we have of Bill as we've lived across the street from him and Paula since the 1980's. The majority of fun stories centered around the yard. "There's Bill Logel out there in his white pants cutting the grass." That's what Steven used to say (he couldn't understand the white pants LOL). And that's what Bill did every 3rd or 4th day. He kept that grass cut. Blake and Erika even repeated that sentence if they saw Bill before anyone else. There was always a comical banter between Bill and Steven & I about whose grass and yard looked the best. I dare say it was us :) Once Bill had blue grass! He sprayed grass killer over the entire yard one fall before he tilled and reseeded it. If I pulled into the subdivision while he was cutting the grass, I would slow down and wait until he was close to the road. When he was, I would pull up and blow the horn. Scared the devil out of him. I would laugh so hard, and he would have a look of disgust on his face. Sometime I would get a finger. Bill put in our sprinkler system, and it was the best laid out / planned system any homeowner could ask for. He was meticulous. We paid him $100 every week until it was paid off. Glad he didn't charge interest LOL. And then there was his mailbox. I can't tell you how many people pulled out of our driveway and took out his mailbox. It became a joke after a while. We would direct people and warn them so as not to take it out. Bill was prickly, but he was also a softy. He will be greatly missed. Now in heaven with Steven, they can start up the yard debate again. RIP Bill. I hope you have on your white pants :) Much love, Deanna Leslie and family
