William Burton Macey

William B. Macey, 81 a member of the the Carolina Shores, NC community passed away on December 12, 2025. Bill was born on September 30, 1944 in Hartford, CT to the late Robert and Margaret Macey. He graduated from Chester High School, Chester, VT, in 1962 and received his BA degree at Elon University, Elon, NC in 1966. Bill did graduate studies at Keene State College, Keens, NH. He attended the NC State College of Textiles in Raleigh, NC. Bill was also a veteran of the United States Army and Army Reserve having served during the Vietnam War.

Bill taught school in Chester followed by 25 years as a textile sales representative with Harriet and Henderson. Once retired he returned to teaching at Crystal River High School in Crystal River, FL.

Bill was an active member of Quarry Hills Country Club in Graham, NC for 23 years; loving the game of golf. He was an avid sports lover and a passionate fan of Duke University basketball.

He was preceded in death by wife, Judith Hudson Macey and son, Christopher Macey; sister, Patricia Plumb and brother, Robert Macey, Jr.

Bill is survived by wife, Kathy; son, Ryan and wife, Rose; grandsons, Connor and Fergus; daughter, Sarah Harrington and step-son, Zachary Shean wife, Whitney and step-grandchildren, Averie and Landon. Many nieces, nephews and cousins will also feel the loss of Bill.
