William H. Maiden

William "Bill" or "Beetle" H. Maiden, III, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. He was 64. Bill was born in Philadelphia to Mildred and William H. Maiden, Jr. He is survived by his children, Samantha Pinto (Gregory), Michael (Nicole), Jamie Ohme (Thomas) and William, IV; grandchildren, Casey Turner, Oliver Pinto, Scarlett Pinto, Miles Maiden, Hannah and Thomas Ohme; step children, Sherry Winstead and Mark Mitzen; siblings, Chuck Maiden, Frances Maiden, Constance Burkhardt, Melody Long, Marge Mason, Thomas Maiden, Larry Maiden, Diana Maiden-Knight, Mary Maiden, and Kathleen Maiden-Toland; relatives, Robin Seybold and Barbara Mason.
William was a welder by trade and served in the US Navy. He spent a period of his life living in New Bern, NC and he enjoyed how slow-paced everything was. He eventually moved back north to the Philadelphia area, bringing an appreciation for country music with him - a stark contrast to the classic rock he also enjoyed.
Those who knew him will always remember his green military jacket and white converse high top sneakers. With a flash of his "baby blues" and his big goofy grin, he was a charmer!
William was a self-proclaimed "clean-freak". He loved to spend time cooking and baking. He enjoyed watching true crime series and would always tune in for an episode of Murder, She Wrote or Law and Order. He was a proud father, stepfather and grandfather, with a wallet full of photos. He was a Philadelphia sports fan, cheering the loudest for the Eagles. He loved the simple things in life like relaxing outside, reading the newspaper, and working on crossword puzzles.
Services and burial will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.
