Mr. William Mark King, age 68, of the Berlin Community in Marshall County, TN passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024. He was a native of Franklin, TN and a son of the late Verner Lee King and Mary Elizabeth Dodd King. Mark grew up in Nashville where he graduated from John Overton High School. Upon graduation he began his career at Nashville Electric Service. Mark retired in 2013 after 32 years of service. Mark was previously a member and elder of Tusculum Church of Christ. Currently, he was a member at Chapel Hill Church of Christ where he served as an elder for many years. He also served his community with the Berlin Fire Department on the Board of Directors and as chairman.
Mr. Mark enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to go camping, hunting, and fishing. He had a passion for metal detecting and finding artifacts. His greatest pleasure was his family and spending time with them!
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sherry Whitaker King of the Berlin Community; children, Travis (Ashley) King of Cornersville, TN, Wesley King of Chapel Hill, TN; 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Megan King; siblings, Paul King of Eagleville, TN, Leanne Mackie of Murfreesboro, TN, Lynne West of Joelton, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 8 PM on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Isaac Bourne officiating. Interment will follow at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
