Dr. Bill was a legend, and as our third senior year roommate, Kari has already shared, there are so many stories! My fondest memories of him which spring to mind bookend our senior year at Lawrence.

In the Fall, Dr. Bill insisted - I believe inspired from having attended the actual premiere - that we must not wait ONE DAY beyond the Appleton debut to experience the film, Rudy. He made a trip to Appleton and took us to the movies, sharing his exuberance for all things Notre Dame. I think we had later evening plans because the next morning we were running a bit tardy when he picked us up for brunch; he cautioned us, "Laur... On... you gotta keep on moving! Just keep on moving. If you stop, you die!" - sage advice we shall not forget!

On our graduation weekend, I have an idelible image of Lauren and Dr. Bill cutting a rug to Frank Sinatra's "Fly me to the moon" - I cannot hear that song without picturing the joy they shared in that moment. He could not have been a prouder father. And dare I say, he lived his life to the fullest. Rest in Peace, Dr. Bill. All my love to the Gatti family.
