William (Bill) George Marth was born on November 4, 1926 on the Marth farm to Julius and Mary (Fehsefeldt) Marth. He attended Herman High School, where he excelled in basketball and track. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army Air Corp where he served until being honorably discharged. He was united in marriage in 1949 to Winnie Holdgrafer whom he met at a dance in Chokio, prior to enlisting. Together they raised six children on their farm east of Herman, Minnesota. Bill loved to hunt, fish, trap, ice skate, and swim. He was a 75+ year member of the American Legion. With six children, and six grandchildren, Bill spent a lot of time attending various sporting events, plays and band concerts. He absolutely loved going to auctions. Of all the things Bill enjoyed doing, what he truly loved the most was spending time with his family.

Bill passed away on August 23, 2024 at Grand Arbor in Alexandria, Minnesota. Bill is survived by his six children: Vicki Trosvig of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; Becky Stark (John Craven) of Austin, Texas; Sally (Duane) DeGagne of Bovey, Minnesota; Kathy Stonehouse of Apple Valley, Minnesota; John Marth of Herman, Minnesota and Chris (Jim) Coleman of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota; six grandchildren: Abby Stark Hartman (Scott) of Richfield, Minnesota; Mallory Stonehouse Sahr (Mark) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Joella Stonehouse of Richfield, Minnesota; Kayla Stonehouse of Plymouth, Minnesota; Kendra Coleman Peeters (Ryan) of Menahga, Minnesota; Patrick Coleman (Emma) of Oakdale, Minnesota; and great-grandchildren: Arrow and Bowie Hartman; Otto Sahr; and Noah Peeters.
