John and I have such fond memories of both Bill and Anne in Rollingwood! I visited with Bill in March and I left with a great, new story and a smile on my face. We will miss him, dearly. I will fix some deviled eggs in his memory and contribute to one of his designated non profits.

It was an honor to know both Bill and Ann McAfee. Their contributions to Austin were immense. I was so thankful that Bill was surrounded by loving family after Ann passed away and he was able to live out his life at home.

I knew Bill through my good friend Laurel, his daughter and care giver. He was an endless source of knowledge on local, state and National Democratic politics at the Sat. meetings at Tres Amigos and then later on in his home in Rollingwood. I only lived in central Texas for 10 years but I always looked forward to our visits and they both made me feel at home even if I was from CA! I remember he had ginger snaps with his meals and I thought, this is a guy who knows how to live! RIP Bill.
