William McKnight

William McKnight, a longtime resident of Pompton Plains, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 65.

Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, William was one of four children of the late William and Gloria (Horvat) McKnight.

On May 14, 1993, William married the love of his life, Mary Jude DiMaulo. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with two children, Mark and Gina, who completed their family.

William had a deep love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing, spending time at the track watching the horses, and relaxing at the beach-where he loved to go crabbing. A dedicated Giants and Mets fan, the challenge of golfing, and the fun of visiting casinos. Above all, William treasured his children, who were truly the center of his world.

William is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jude McKnight; his son, Mark McKnight; his daughter, Gina McKnight; and his brother, James "Cheech" McKnight. He was predeceased by his brother, John McKnight, as well as his parents, William and Gloria McKnight.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 2–6 PM at Scanlan's in Pompton Plains, with a funeral service beginning at 5:30 PM to conclude the visitation. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
