When I was younger I remember on the days of the Kentucky Derby, Grand-pit would come over. We would have have club soda with mint and we would dress in fancy hats. I would never want him to leave, we had so much fun. I miss you Grand-pit, hope you read this from heaven!

As an international counselor at Camp Hale in 1995 & 1996
I didn't know what was in store. Not only did I have many incredible experiences that will always remain with me, I also met some really amazing people, Billy being one of them. He was always very friendly and gracious, quick with a joke and some banter, and a real character. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and know Billy in a small way.
God bless and rest in peace to true gentleman and great guy!

Billy McQueen will always hold a special place in my heart. He was a great friend and mentor, a hard worker, and above all a tremendous power of example to me. Billy was there with a flashlight in my darkest of days. I'm sure he's holding court in Heaven with the Snitz and Buckets by his side.

To Billy's family,,,I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Our family shared a lot of laughter and joy over many years of friendship with Billy. He always showed up,in good times and bad.Just his presence was enough to show he cared. Our family spent a lot of time at our home with him.....We'd often stay up all night sitting on the sea wall and watching the sun come up.Not without devil dogs.....One tme I smashed about 4 of them all over his face...we laughed so long I thought we'd never stop.I can't forget his nickname for my sister Karen.(..Mrs.DiMaggio..) because she was always putting on a new pot of coffee, even if it was 3:00 in the morning.....I will never forget him...just sorry I haven't spoken to him for quite a long time. The last time I saw Billy was at my mothers' wake, funeral and mercy dinner.Again,he always showed up.A good friend and will always be fondly remembered. We all love you,Billy
