William F. "Legsy" Melanson

MELANSON, William F. "Legsy". Of West Roxbury, formerly of Dorchester, died October 19, 2020. Loving father of William Melanson of Florida, and Paul and his wife Valerie Melanson of Florida. Devoted "Grampy" of Lucius Melanson. Beloved son of Patricia A. (Stanton) Melanson of Dorchester and the late Paul W. Melanson. Brother of Paula and her husband Kevin O'Brien of Braintree, Linda and her husband Walter Burke of West Roxbury, Geraldine and her husband Wayne Partello of Norwood, and Beth and her husband Michael Lehane of Bridgewater. Uncle of Joan Bell, Joey Burke, Patrick Burke, Kathleen Burke, Wayne Partello, Lisa Boyle, Christine Heenehan, Courtney Wager, and the late Ronald Harris and Daniel Melanson. Great-uncle of Marissa Inglis, Arianna Bell, Julia and Emily Partello, Kylie and Kevin Boyle, Jack and Reese Heenehan, and Erin and Abby Wager. Great-great-uncle of Layla and Andrew Inglis. Legsy is survived by several aunts, cousins, and dear friends. He is a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service, working at the South Boston Postal Annex for many years. Legsy is known for his great sense of humor. He especially enjoyed playing tricks on his many nieces and nephews, and giving them rides on his electric scooter. He was a true "character" and everyone enjoyed just being around him. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Seasons Hospice, 597 Canton Avenue, Milton, MA 02186. Funeral services will be private.
