Obituary for William G Merritt Jr.
William (Bill) G. Merritt Jr- age 77, passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2025. He is survived by his brother James Merritt and his sister Frances Connolly and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Merritt and William Merritt Sr.
Bill grew up in the Bay Area and graduated from Carlmont High School in Belmont Ca. He worked for many years as an Auto Body Repairman at Superior Auto Body in San Carlos. Bill also had his own business called Merritts Auto Body Repair. Later in life he became a certified Yoga Instructor from Sivananda Yoga in Grass Valley. Bill shared his love of yoga as an instructor at The Sequoia Center for Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Redwood City. He volunteered his Yoga mastery at the local AA meeting in Belmont.
Bill had a lifelong passion for collecting antiques, gardening, rock carving and spirituality. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kindness and dedication to helping others. Over the years, he shared his life with several beloved dogs, including Buddy and Fritz, who brought him great joy.
At this time, no public service is planned. The family invites those who knew Bill to remember him in their own special way.
