William “Mikey” Michael Pacheco, age 68, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, at Willows Assisted Living following a courageous battle with cancer. William’s warmth, strength, and easy laugh touched everyone who knew him. His spirit will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

William was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Abeyta; his father, George Pacheco; his brothers, Alex Pacheco and Danny Pacheco; and his beloved daughter, Wilma Pacheco.

William moved to Idaho, where he met Brenda Beasley, and together they shared two daughters, Virginia Pacheco and Wilma Pacheco. Later in life, he met Crucita Romero, with whom he shared 27 wonderful years and together they built a loving family. In 2023, William moved to Idaho to be closer to his daughter and grandsons, cherishing every moment spent with his family.

He is survived by Crucita Romero; his daughters, Virginia Pacheco (Ace); Josephine Martinez; his sons, Frank Chacon, Anthony Maestas; his grandsons, Armando Pacheco, Marco Pacheco, Noah Pacheco, Jack Romero, Zaki; his granddaughters, Cheyanne Romero, Lilliejean, Dahila; his sisters and brothers, Teresa Pacheco, David Pacheco (Annie), Jerry Pacheco (Andrea), Judy Duran (Amos), Barbara Tafoya (James), Patricia Gutierrez, Karla Gonzales (Richard), Angela Pacheco, Susan Lustri and Maxine Pacheco. William also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, along with countless friends and extended family who loved him dearly.

William lived a life of hard work and dedication. He proudly served as a firefighter, built homes with skill and care, and worked as a mechanic — always ready to lend a hand or fix whatever needed attention. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life: fishing, spending time in the mountains, enjoying a cold beer, visiting the casino, and watching football. Above all, he loved being with his family and creating memories that will be treasured forever. William was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and quiet resilience. He touched many lives with his presence and will be remembered for his love of family and the lasting impact he made on everyone around him. He was truly loved by many and will forever remain in our hearts.

Rosary will be recited on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at 9am followed by the funeral mass at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Taos, New Mexico, with burial (Graveside service) to follow at the Las Cruces Cemetery. A meal will follow at the Don Fernando's Hotel.
