William (Bill) C. Miller passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024 at Middleton Village Nursing and Rehabilitation from dementia and other complications.
Bill was born on January 20, 1948 to Harold and Eileen (Henthorn) Miller in Richland Center, WI. Bill grew up there and graduated from Richland Center High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army and attended Army Engineer School.
Bill grew up in Richland Center but moved to Madison and eventually settled for most of his life in Sun Prairie, WI. In the last several years, he had lived in Columbus, DeForest, and eventually settled in Middleton until his death. After Bill was honorably discharged from the Army in 1974, he was a machinist in the company he owned, LAO Machine Shop, for many years. His hobbies through the years included fishing, hunting, and bowling. Bill was quite the “character” and loved to play pranks on others. He also enjoyed watching and going to Milwaukee Brewers baseball games, watching the Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers hockey games.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Kevin Friedli), and Grandchildren; Logan and Cade Friedli.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Harold and Eileen (Henthom) Miller, and brother; James Miller.
Funeral services are being held on Monday, July 8, 2024, through Cress Funeral Services, Madison, WI - Far West, 6021 University Avenue, Madison, WI 53705. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am, with the funeral service from 11:00 - 11:30 am. Following the service, there will be a procession to the burial site at Sunset Memory Gardens, 7301 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI 53717, with military honors, for his final resting place. The family asks that there not be any flowers delivered to the service.
