Statesboro, Georgia
William Edward "Bill" Mixon Jr., age 74, passed away on July 28, 2025, in Statesboro, Georgia. Born on June 5, 1951, in Augusta, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Edward Mixon Sr. and Thelma Harris Mixon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Mixon.
He is survived by two daughters, Stacy (Chris) Smith of Brooklet, Georgia, and Dana (Bo) Jackson of Martinsville, Virginia; his former wife, Elaine Howell; grandchildren, Olivia (Joey) May and Brantley Smith; one sister, Dorothy Smitherman, and a brother, David Mixon, both of Augusta.
Throughout his life, Bill lived in several places before settling in Bulloch County in 1994. He worked as a millwright until his retirement, though retirement never really slowed him down. A true workaholic with a quiet demeanor, he was always tinkering, fixing, or finding something to keep his hands busy. Never one to make a fuss, he handled life's challenges with steady calm. When he did take a break from work, he enjoyed casting a line and relaxing with a bit of fishing.
