William J. Montgomery Jr.

William J. Montgomery, Jr., 79, of Rockport, died on Thursday, November 27th. He was the son of the late William J. Montgomery, Sr and Catherine M. (Hayes) Montgomery
Bill loved the outdoors, NASCAR, vintage cars, and helping out wherever he could. He loved the Town of Rockport; spending time at the camp in Maine; and on the lake with family. He was particularly dedicated to The Rockport Fire Department for over 40 years, where he served as Captain of the Ladder Truck.
Bill is survived by his loving family: his brother, John Montgomery and his wife, Edie; his brother, Walter G. Montgomery and his wife, Andrea. He is also survived by his nieces, Charissa Montgomery and her husband, Edward Chamberlain, Brianna Montgomery and her husband, Christopher Hodgkins, and his nephew, Michael Montgomery. He leaves behind his great-nephews, Colby and Cadin Chamberlain, Cody and Julian Hodgkins, and his great-niece, Lainie Hodgkins. He will also be deeply missed by his very dear friends, Kevin and Beth Beaulieu and their sons, Eric and John.
Bill succumbed to a long fight with a brain tumor that finally took him on Thanksgiving. He deserved better and will be sorely missed.
