Weston – Mr. William J. Morton, of Weston, died Friday, March 23, 2012 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 54. Bill was born in Nantucket on December 4, 1957, a son of the late Peter and Joanne (Shea) Morton. As a child his family moved to Weston where he had been a resident since. He graduated from Weston High School and then attended Mitchell College. Bill worked as a data manager for the Hachette Publishing Company, formerly known as Little-Brown & Company. It was while working there that he developed a passion for golf, often arranging outings with his colleagues. In years past he had also enjoyed scuba diving. Bill leaves his brother and sister, David P. Morton of Newton and Elizabeth M. Sauro, and her husband, Michael, of Newton and his nephew and nieces, Ben, Lauren, Sarah and Chelsie. Family and friends will honor and remember Bill's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, March 28th, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Joseph's Church, 142 Lincoln Road, Lincoln, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.

Dear Morton Family,
So very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I have known Bill since he started working for Little Brown all those years ago. We spent a lot of time together skiing and playing golf on quite a few trips. He will be missed.

Dear Morton Family,

I'm sorry to learn about Bill's passing. Bill was a WHS 76 classmate and a good guy. We shared many mutual friends in school. I send my condolences on your loss.
