William Mourer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Janowicz Family Funeral Home - Lakeview on Mar. 17, 2026.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William Mourer, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who departed this life on March 16, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on September 4, 1937, William was a hardworking man whose love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. A passionate collector, hunter, and fisherman, William found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He took pride in mowing his own lawn and cherished the moments spent outdoors, whether it was camping trips with his family or watching birds and feeding deer in his yard. He was a steadfast provider for his family, demonstrating his dedication through hard work and unwavering love. William is remembered for his dry sense of humor and a heart that loved deeply-a man who always exuded warmth and compassion toward others. He was a devoted father to his children: Bill (Jackie) Mourer, Judy Mourer, Mike Mourer, Joan (Rodney) Lutterloh, Jean (Keith) Whipple, David Mourer, Karen (Wade) Peterman. His legacy lives on in his cherished grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. William's memory will live with his 28 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. William's passion for sports was a bonding experience enjoyed with his boys, and he found comfort and laughter in those moments. He kept a beard throughout his life, a signature look that many will remember him by.

William is proceeded in death by his parents, wife Luella Mourer, his siblings, Betty, Verna, Lela, Isla, and Jim, 1 grandson, and 1 great granddaughter. Funeral services for William will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church at 12:00 p.m. on March 19th. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his remarkable life and the love he shared with all. A visitation will take place prior to the service at 11: 00 a.m., allowing everyone to pay their respects and share cherished memories. As we say goodbye to a truly wonderful man, we take solace in the love he shared and the many lives he touched. William's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
