William Mueller

Our prayers and best wishes to all the Mueller family. Bill and Terri were members of the Gaelic Cultural Society for many years and the work that they did was appreciated by all. I had the fortune to be a golfing teammate of Bill's during tournaments, long after his regular outings with Joe Mahony. Bob Mahony continued the tradition of teaming up with Bill for several years in the league at Hickory Hill. Although challenged later in his years, Bill had the heart to go out and try his best. His famous lines are well known by those he golfed with! "Argggh - can't hit my driver, can't hit my irons" but the truth is that he sent the ball straight and true on a journey that eventually got to its destination.

Well I am sure that he and Joe are hitting the courses in all the right ways now in his well earned destination. We will surely miss Bill but his memory will live on in our daily lives. His love of Terri and the rest of the family will hopefully give all the strength needed in the days ahead.

There is an Irish poem by Thomas Moore that I would like to share a verse that brought our family comfort in our time of need:

Sweet vale of Avoca! how calm could I rest
In thy bosom of shade, with the friends I love best,
Where the storms that we feel in this cold world should cease,
