William Nipper Obituary

Visit the Smith Family Funeral Homes - Westbrook website to view the full obituary.
William Arvil “Ted” Nipper, age 89 years, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday. He was a beloved husband, father and member of the community who truly exemplified the “Greatest Generation”.
Born on a farm in Antioch, Mr. Nipper was a Christian, a lifelong member of the Methodist Church who survived the Depression and served his country in Europe during World War II. After the war, he married Alice Anderson of El Paso. He earned a masters degree in educational administration and with Alice, lovingly raised a family, shared long careers as educators and maintained a small family farm. He cherished every minute at the farm and once even remarked that his old John Deere was his best friend. As a husband and father, he had an immutable sense of right and wrong, a firm hand, a wry wit and the kindest heart.
Mr. Nipper was preceded in death by his parents, Henry “Ollie” and Betty Price-Nipper, all of his sisters, Sybil Loy Harrison, Irene Fuller, Hazel Fuller and Shirley Hardaway; and both his brothers Elmer and Arnold Nipper.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Alice Anderson-Nipper of Beebe; daughter Sharon (Mike) Lynch of Beebe; and son Will (Debbie) Nipper of Conway. His grandchildren are Tad (Amy) Lynch of Beebe, Stacy (Clark) Taylor of Cabot, and Kelsey, Shelby and Abigail Nipper of Conway. He is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Ava Taylor of Cabot and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2004, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
