William Nunn
William Stephen Nunn, 90, widower, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend of Virgilina and Clarksville, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Mr. Nunn, the son of Herbert Arthur Nunn and Etta Snead Pool Nunn was a native of Virgilina, VA. Following his graduation from Virgilina High School, Mr. Nunn studied at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and North Carolina State University.
Mr. Nunn's life long passion as a road contractor began with his fathers business, HA Nunn Construction Company, Inc. He went on to co-found Key Construction Company, Inc. and actively presided as President from its founding in 1966 through 2004. Mr. Nunn was a civic, community, and spiritual leader. He was an active man of the community where he served on Clarksville's Town Council, and within Clarksville Baptist Church, Aaron's Creek Baptist Church, Twin River's Masonic Lodge #338 and it's encompassing Masonic District, ACCA Shriner Temple, Lake Country Shriners, and was a founding member of the Aaron's Creek Ruritan Club.
William "Bill" Nunn was married 62 years to the late Betty Jean Atkins Nunn. For many of those years they resided in Clarksville. He is survived by their three sons, Stephen Atkins Nunn (Kelly), Timothy Brann Nunn (Sara), Mark William Nunn (Elizabeth); siblings, Carolyn Nunn Murphy, Lawrence Nunn (Kay), Linda Nunn Fryer, Glenn Nunn; and sister-in-law, Becky Nunn. Mr. Nunn is also survived by five grandchildren, Sara Catherine Marshall (James), Leah Nunn McGowan (Andrew), Danielle Atkins Nunn, William Vaughan Nunn, Payne Atkins Nunn (Janell); and five great-grandchildren, Emily, Harrison, and Charlie McGowan; and Thomas and Nathan Marshall.
In addition to his wife, Betty, Mr. Nunn was predeceased by siblings, Aubrey Nunn, Jimmy Nunn, and Annette Nunn Hall.

There will be a visitation held at Aaron's Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Friday, January 17, 2025, 2 p.m.
