Bill was a wonderful colleague. I'm so glad I got to work with him! He always had an interesting perspective. He also had a devilish smile! I miss him!

My condolences to the family. Bill was delightful company; and after reconnecting with him last summer, I´d been so much looking forward to seeing him more often. I will miss him!

Bill and I were classmates starting in kindergarten through high school. After graduation I didn't see him again until a long-ago reunion at which he told me he was teaching for the University of Maryland's Overseas Program in Germany.  Fast forward to 2005 and my daughter is now doing the same thing.  She put me back in touch with Bill and he and I have enjoyed emailing back and forth across the pond for the past 18 years, often sharing (or refreshing) our memories of growing up and going to school in Stratford in the 40's and 50's.  One of his colleagues recently expressed fascination at how Bill's connection to the town was still so strong after so many years and countries. He seemed to treasure those days as much as I did, and I shall miss him. My sincere sympathy to his family.

Sincere sympathies to Bill's daughters and related family members. Bill was a major player in our class of Stratford High School 1955. We had many fun and engaging times. He lead a very active and enthusiastic life - God Bless all!

Bill and I were high school pals and continued a long distance friendship for the rest of his life. He had a keen memory for tiny details. I thought he would study law but his sense of humor probably kept him from the gravity of a courtroom. We had the co-leads in the senior class high school play and addressed each other with our character´s names, Clive and Penelope forever after.
I´m so glad for him that he had such devoted friends at his side during his final days.

Bill was a good friend and colleague at UMUC. We worked together on the Faculty Advisory Council for several years. I know that "book filled" apartment well, as we discussed many of those works! All the best, Bill.
